A brief history of planet Volco

It is the future. The earth has been destroyed by centuries of war, poisoned by toxic chemicals and waste so that it can no longer support life. Humans are looking for other planets in the universe where they will be able to set up home and discover different ways of living.

Many are going to Mars, but a few have heard of a new planet in another solar system where they will be able to work together and create a new society. The planet is VOLCO – a Virtual OnLine CoOperative society where the new inhabitants are looking for ways to live in peace and co-operation with each other, without weapons of destruction.

Hundreds of Volcans already inhabit the planet. Most early settlers came from the eastern fringes of a large city on Planet Earth. However more are soon to join from all parts of the universe. VOLCO is evolving…

Volcans live in settlements which they name themselves, each individual taking on a new identity for their life on the planet. All settlements can be found on the map, and individual Volcans accessed through a settlement or logging in at the Volcans page. Once established, Volcan communities begin their task of creating all aspects of life on the planet.

They can choose an archive area to develop, or add a new one, then contact another settlement for discussion in the Forum. Once the new information has been agreed, it is entered into the archives where all Volcan knowledge is stored. Volcans cannot change the history of the planet, but they can decide what happens next.
